Rebecca Mezoff, Tapestry Artist — Profile

Name:  Rebecca Mezoff
E-mail:  rebecca.mezoff@gmail.com
Location:  Blanca, Colorado
Birthday:  5 August, 1972
Bio:  I am a contemporary tapestry weaver. I became interested in weaving as a child standing by my grandfather?s 60 inch Macomber loom while he wove curtains. Many years later I came across my own loom and about a decade ago I started weaving myself in earnest. I began tapestry weaving in 2004 at Northern NM College in El Rito, NM doing traditional Rio Grande tapestry. My work now is more contemporary in nature, but I still use the two-harness counterbalance standing loom that is used in the Rio Grande tradition. I currently use two-ply 100% wool yarn for all of my pieces which I dye myself. I live near Blanca, CO under shadow of Mt. Blanca?s 14,000 foot peak.
Interests:  If I am not weaving, I spend my time hiking long trails with my yellow lab, laughing with friends and family, knitting, reading, making music, or working as an occupational therapist with children.
